FSP: The Pauline Center for Media Studies (USA)

The Pauline Center for Media Studies is a ministry of the Daughters of St. Paul. Its focus is to develop and encourage media literacy/media mindfulness for parents and teachers within the context of culture, education, and faith formation.
The Pauline Center for Media Studies was started in Boston in December 1995 and moved to Culver City, CA (Archdiocese of Los Angeles) in 2002.
Since 2007 more than 60 catechists, youth ministers, pastoral ministers, and religious have received the Advanced Certificate in Media Literacy.
The certificate is recognized by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Department of Catholic Schools and the Department of Religious Education for continuing education and re-certification and as a Catechist Specialization.

The course is also recognized for credit by the International Institute of Theological and Tribunal Studies, Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The Archdiocese of San Francisco recognizes this certificate as a Catechist Specialization.
The Diocese of Orange recognizes the Certificate for re-certification of the Basic Catechist Certificate and fifty-one hours towards the sixty hours required in advanced methodology for the Master Catechist Certificate.

The Diocese of San Diego recognizes the Media Literacy Course as a Catechist Specialization.
