SSP India: Blessing of the New Wing of St Pauls Institute of Communication Education (SPICE)

The new premises of the St Pauls Institute of Communication Education (SPICE) on the second floor of St Pauls Media Complex, Bandra, were blessed at 3 p.m. on Saturday, 17 January 2015. Fr Shaiju Joseph, the Founder-Director of SPICE, officially inaugurated the premises by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“St Pauls Institute of Communication Education is the sign of God’s blessings and the symbol of Society of St Paul’s commitment to train media personnel,” affirmed Fr Michael Raj, the Provincial, in his words of welcome and highlighted the significance of the event in the life of our Province. Later, Fr Michael Raj presided over the blessing ceremony and invoked God’s abundance of graces on the Institute and on the august gathering.

In his message on the occasion, Fr Jose Pottayil, the Director General of the Apostolate, drew the attention of those present at this historic moment in the life of the society of St Paul to the educative dimension of the Pauline Charism. Mr Brijesh Chinai, the Director of BRIC Design, who meticulously and fabulously designed the new premises, addressed the gathering and expressed a deep sense of satisfaction in being associated with St Pauls. During his speech, he also wished the entire SPICE team a very fruitful and successful mission in the formation of journalists and media personnel.

Ms Carol Andrade, the Dean of the Institute, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed her profound gratitude to all who contributed to the commendable growth of the SPICE. Present at the Inaugural and Blessing ceremony were members of the Pauline Family, all our staff of Bandra campus, friends and well-wishers. The historical event came to an end with a friendly gathering in the community dining hall for a high tea!
