The Catholic Press is the ruling idea of my life, an idea that makes itself ever more complex and concrete: the queen of my mind, of my will and of my heart: the sun before which other ideas almost disappear. To form myself as an apostle of the Press, I pray with unusual fervour (Diary, February 28, 1917).
