Poverty, understood in the evangelical-Pauline sense, is at the same time mortification, justice, providence, work and production. The natural and supernatural basis of the economy is the virtue and the vow of poverty. In general, the Pauline lives from his apostolate; and for extraordinary expenses, he resorts to the charity of the Cooperators (CISP, p. 164).
