We are fathers, not sons, and we must provide for ourselves and for others. We cannot provide for ourselves alone, because in their turn others have provided for us; so that in the fulfilment of our vocation we can also provide for others; we must also provide for the formation of members; and we must do so, as we would have done in the family (VCG, p. 201).
