In the beginning was the Word,
\nand the Word was with God,
\nand the Word was God.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He was in the beginning with God;
\nall things came to be through him,
\nand without him nothing came to be.<\/span><\/p>\n

What came to be through him was life,
\nand the life was the light of men,
\nand the light shines in the darkness,
\nand the darkness did not overcome it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There was a man sent by God named John. He came as a witness to bear witness concerning the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light but came to bear witness concerning the light. It was the true light that enlightens every man that was coming into the world.<\/p>\n

He was in the world, and the world came to be
\nthrough him,
\nyet the world did not know him.
\nHe came to his own home,
\nYet his own people did not receive him.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But all who did receive him, to them he gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believe in his name, those who were born, not of blood nor of the will of flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.<\/p>\n

And the Word became flesh
\nand dwelt among us,
\nand we saw his glory,
\nglory as of the only begotten of the Father,
\nfull of grace and truth.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

John bore witness concerning him and cried out, saying, \u201cThis was the one of whom I said, \u2018The one who\u2019s coming after me is above me, because he was before me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

For we have all received of his fullness,
\nand grace upon grace,
\nfor the Torah was given through Moses,
\ngrace and truth came through Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

No one has ever seen God;
\nthe only begotten Son of God,
\nwho is in the bosom of the Father,
