O St. Paul, most glorious Apostle of the Gentiles, with so much zeal you spent yourself to destroy in Ephesus those writings that you knew would have perverted the minds of the faithful. Now, too, look upon us kindly. You see how an unbelieving press, without hindrance, seeks to snatch from our hearts the precious treasure of faith and good morals. Enlighten, we beg you, O holy Apostle, the minds of many writers, so that they may cease bringing ruin to so many people. Move their hearts to detest the evil that they do to the flock of Jesus Christ. Obtain for us the grace to be always docile to the voice of the Supreme Shepherd and never to read writings that could lead us astray. Rather, let us seek to read, promote, and distribute those writings that will help everyone to work for the greater glory of God, the growth of the Church, and the salvation of all people. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n
