1. I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your offspring and hers; he will strike at your head.<\/span>
\nAntiphon.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

2. The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; hence, the holy offspring to be born will be called the Son of God.<\/span>

3. She gave birth to her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger.<\/span>

4. This child is destined to be the downfall and the rise of many in Israel, a sign that will be opposed, and you yourself shall be pierced by a sword.<\/span>

5. Seeing his Mother there with the disciple whom he loved, Jesus said to his Mother, \u201cWoman, there is your son.\u201d In turn, he said to the disciple, \u201cThere is your Mother.\u201d<\/span>
