Poverty in an Institute is the guarantee of good spirit and good development, especially of beautiful and numerous vocations. God does not send where people do not work or where there is waste, even in small things. One who has attachment, even to a single thread, is like a tied bird: one cannot take flight to the heights of holiness (UPS I, 452-453).
