Poverty beyond production requires the preservation of things. Everything must be kept with care… Every object in use is for the apostolate; it is an instrument that Providence has given us to save souls… To provide for the needs of the home or the Institute with the right measure, with judgment, with goodness… Three things then matter in the exercise of poverty for us: to produce, to preserve, to provide (FSP-Spiegazione delle Costituzioni, p. 199s).
