The Sacred Scripture must be read with an ardent spirit… in order to penetrate and scrutinize its meaning. Also to read it with great love… The Bible is the letter of God, of our Heavenly Father; He gave it to us with the infinite love of a Father, and so we must read it with all the love of children (LS 199).
