The Church celebrates the earthly birth of the Virgin Mary because she was conceived without sin and appeared on earth full of grace and adorned with every gift—as she was to be the Mother of the Savior. Let us contemplate the Blessed Virgin in her little cradle. That day, heaven rejoiced and earth began to hope. (Feasts of Mary, 154)
