Collect

O God, who raised up in your Church Blessed James Alberione, your priest, to proclaim your Son as the Way, the Truth and the Life, through the many forms of communication, grant, we beseech you, that we may follow his example and devote ourselves to preaching the Gospel to all nations.
Through Our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God, forever and ever.

First Reading

A Reading from the Second Letter of St Paul to Timothy   (4:1-5)

(Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season.)

In the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by the hope I have of his coming and his kingdom, I urge you to preach the word and insist on it in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke and encourage, always with all patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will no longer endure sound doctrine, but in their eagerness to hear what is new they will accumulate for themselves teachers after their own liking. And they will abandon the truth to hear myths. So be always prudent, put up with suffering, give yourself to your work of preaching the Gospel, fulfil your ministry. The Word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm
(Ps 96:1-3,10)

Response: Proclaim the wonders  of  the Lord among all the peoples.

O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name, tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous works among all the peoples.
Alleluia, alleluia!

The Spirit of truth will be my witness, and you too will be my witnesses, says the Lord.

Alleluia!

Gospel

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark   (16:14-18)

(Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.)

Later Jesus showed himself to the Eleven while they were at table. He reproached them for their unbelief and stubbornness in refusing to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. Then he told them, “Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News to all creation. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; he who refuses to believe will be condemned. Signs like these will accompany those who believe: in my Name they will cast out demons and speak new languages; they will pick up snakes in their hands and, if they drink anything poisonous, they will not be hurt. They will lay hands on the sick and they will be healed.” The Gospel of the Lord.

Prayer over the Offerings

Lord, accept these gifts from your people. May the Eucharist we offer to your glory in memory of Blessed James Alberione help us on our way to salvation.

Preface

The Lord be with you.  =  And with your spirit.

Lift up your hearts.   =    We lift them up to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. =   It is right and just.
Father, all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks.
You give the Church this feast in honour of Blessed James Alberione who dedicated his life to Jesus the Master, and to spreading his good news in all the world through modern media.
You appointed him founder and father of a family of apostles.
In his life you give us an example of growing in holiness and of the hope of the world to come.
Now with all the angels and saints we sing our unending hymn of praise:

All: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts …

Communion Antiphon

It is no longer I who live; it is Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20)

Prayer after Communion

Lord, we receive the bread of heaven as we honour the memory of Blessed James Alberione. May the Eucharist we now celebrate increase our strength of character and love for you.

May we guard from every danger the faith you have given us and walk always in the way that leads to salvation.

Solemn Blessing

The Deacon or the Celebrant says:

Bow down for the blessing.

Then the Celebrant, holding his hands extended over the people, says: [the invocations are new]

May God who chose James Alberione and granted him the grace and wisdom to commit himself to the apostolate of the media and to prepare consecrated men and women to engage in the same apostolate, grant you his spirit of prayer and his zeal for the Kingdom of God.

Amen.

May God who granted him the gift of a deep understanding of the mystery of Jesus the Master, the Way, the Truth and the Life and a special devotion to him, grant you the grace of a deeper discipleship under Jesus the Master.

Amen.

May God who led James Alberione to the blessed life with him for ever grant you the grace to live a holy life and one day to join him in heavenly glory.

Amen.

And may the blessing of almighty God, the Father, and the Son X and the Holy Spirit, come down on you and remain with you for ever.

Amen.
