Seventh Station

℣. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
℟. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

A second time, Jesus’ strength fails him, and he who was made the “opprobrium of humanity” and the “rejected one of the people” falls a second time beneath the cross.

Good Master, thus do you pay for our repeated sins, committed maliciously or because we put ourselves in the occasions.
Lord, I detest my sins, which are an offense to your Majesty, the cause of the death of your divine Son, and my spiritual ruin, and I resolve to avoid all sin in the future.

Have mercy on us, O Lord.
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mother, etc.

For the sins of his own nation
She saw him hang in desolation
Till his spirit forth he sent.

Vidit suum dulcem natum
Moriendo desolatum
