Glorious Mysteries

I. Jesus Christ rises gloriously from the sepulcher. His resurrection represents our own resurrection on the last day. Let us ask the Lord to increase our faith (see Mt 28:1–15; Mk 16:1–18; Lk 14:1–49; Jn 20:1–30).

Subjects for meditation:

Jesus in the Rosary: Jesus is God.
Mary in the Rosary: “Rejoice, O Queen of heaven.”
Fruit: Faith.
Intention: For nonbelievers.
Words: “He is not here, he has risen.”
Eucharist: The glory of the Blessed Sacrament.
Pure love: Victories of love.

 

II. Our Savior ascends into heaven with wondrous glory and triumph. Let us ask for detachment from the things of this earth and a desire for those of heaven (see Mk 16:19; Lk 24:50–53; Acts 1:9–10).

Mary in the Rosary: The spiritual ascensions of Mary.

Fruit: Hope.
Intention: For religious.
Words: “This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come again in the same way.”

Pure love: Love remains forever.

 

III. The Holy Spirit descends upon the apostles to enlighten, comfort, and sanctify them. Let us ask for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially wisdom, fortitude, and zeal (see Acts 2:1–4).

Mary in the Rosary: Mary, Queen of the Apostles.
Fruit: Zeal.
Intention: For the Church.
Words: “All were filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Pure love: Charity is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

 

IV. After her earthly pilgrimage, the Blessed Virgin is assumed into heaven, body and soul, with marvelous glory. Let us ask for a holy life so as to die in the holy love of God (see Ps 45:14; Lk 1:52; LG 59).

V. Mary is crowned Queen of heaven and earth, dispenser of all graces, and our most loving Mother. Let us resolve to be devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary and ask the gift of perseverance (see Rev 12:1).
